broadway christmas show

my last day in new york before heading off to the carribbean was shopping in SOHO, the streets are messy as hell from the snow but it had such awesome shops, i went a little crazy and had to escape, although i will go back after new year!
i met up with deb and her freind from london and we went out for lunch at Val Bellas in Soho, another fancy as hell place to eat. i ate soooo much food that i couldnt eat again that day, actually till sitting at the airport the next day i was still so full.hhaha,
we the had a private car pick us up and take us to our show on broadway at radio city christmas show called the rockettes which have been famous since 1932, well its news to me but it really was spectacular!unfortunately i had so much to eat at lunch that i felt sick and that put a dampener on our evening as we had a reservation at the sea grill by the skate rink at rockefeller centre. instead we went home and packed our bags to the carribbean!!!!!

sLedding adventures in CT

ok so i was excited today beacuse i knew we were going sledding as it snowed over night and i am still a 5 year old..
but i started my morning attempting to cook wholemeal pancakes, it tasted like eating metamucal straight up, so i gave up and hitnthe gym down stairs and did a half a...ed worked out in my flanny pjs, looked at the hot tub and knew i would be back but for now its SLEDDING TIME! and it was my first time so off i went outside to play with the real 5 year olds (and some people my age too)
so it was my turn after watching a few people go down and stopping by the fence, this looked simple enough, so on i get at the top of the tiniest hill ever, and turned to ask hannah this 5 year old girl "what do i do, ive never done this before?" and she simply said, "well its easy, ill just push you" so i went sledding down this hill soo fast and realised that i was not goin to stop, and i hit that fence sooo hard i broke it and almost went through and fell back onto the snow in so much pain, i thought i had lost the tip of my finger from slamming it between the sled and the fence at full speed and my lower back copped the edge of the timber at such speed too.i got carried off inside to find out that my finger was still attatched it just really didnt feel like it.
after i had calmed down, we all started having a chat about what happened, they all failed to tell me that i was meant to bail before hitting the fence because nothing was going to slow me down! thanks guys!
but all in all it was pretty funny, now i can say i have been sledding and managed to really bang myself up, i now have a huge bruised lump on my back and am hobbling around but i will live!
so instead of a bandiad making it all better, unwrapping christmas presents did the job just fine!i scored a beautiful cashmire red checked scarf, silvre hoop earing, some lancome makeup, awesome red scottish dog fannel ps, a beach bag for the carribbean in a few days and some awesome quality wool socks thats are apparently super fancy. so i did very well and its not even christmas!.. followed by that hot tub i knew i was going to have and a glass of baileys (they dont go well together)

this is the moment i knew i had failed!check out my face!!

to solve all the problems i thought id act like an Aussie and just have a beer!!

a christmas party in connecticut

any one who knows me wont believe it but i slept in untill 11am!!i couldnt believe it, but i thought that was enough sleep so dug myself out of this way too comfortable bed, dragged myself down stairs to have some breakfast/lunch and discovered my 9ft tree was now the leaning tree of pizza. we fixed it and i put on my santa hat and started wrapping a tonne of xmas presents.i felt very much in the american christmas spirit!
after all that i decided to get dressed and debra and i went ot one of these perfect lil towns and treated ourselves to a pedicure, well it was a treat to me as it was the first in my entire 24 years, but to her it was something she did on every other week.it was an hour long treatment, sitting in the massage chair with a hot towel behind my neck, starrbucks beside me and a little asian lady working away at my feet, massaging, buffing, moisterising, then dipped my feet in hot wax 3 times!god that kinda burned, but i braved it as i knew it would all be worth it in th end.she finised off by painting my toenails a pretty sparkly purple to match my swimmers for the cruise next week.
my feet were sooo soft and relaxed i could barely walk!
we came home. threw on a pretty black dress again, did my bangs and went down stairs to start socialising and eating a tonne of food!it was a great party but i was exhausted after my day of wrapping presents and pedicures, so after a few glasses of baileys and seeing that the snow had just begun, i felt satisfied enough to go to sleep.!!!

ok so this pic is actually when we were opening presents, i cant seem to find the pics of the party, but i will soon, so this is me and my fairy godmother Deb!

christmas tree yankee style

day 3 i got up at a reasonable time, had an awesome sleep in the most comfortable bed ever! the bed just moulded around my body, i didnt even have to move!
i got ready for the day and we made our way to the christmas tree farm, about a 45 min drive away through the woods that look like blair witch, and all these picture perfect lttle towns! we got out at the tree farm the sun was shining but god it was freeezing, way colder than whistler!my fingers and toes froze even tho i had goretex glove and northface boots on! we hunted for the perfect tree, and found the best one already cut down on our way out, so we grabbed that one, kinda cheated but we still did the hard work of hunting for one!so we dragged it to the machine where they wrap it up with bailing twine and we threw it on top of the cadillac, and drove back through the perfect lil towns and came home to decorate out 9ft tree over a nice bottle of red wine, then eventually hit the hay..so that was my american christmas tree experience!

timesquare

day two came around very quickly, i couldnt sleep in cos i knew there was more shopping and photo ops to be had,so off i went on the subway again, falling asleep with all my luggage ready for the weekend away in connecticut, jumping off the train at the wrong stop cos i freaked out from falling asleep, woke up and realised i was meant to get off at 42nd st not 34th. so got back on and looked up to a black american man in hysterics, he was watching me the whole time. oh well, thats what u get being a tourist!
so made my way into timesquare, very overwhelmed with the hustle and bustle of the huge buildings and lights. went into thomson reuters to visit my fairy godmother, went on a shopping spree (everything was on sale!!) got some awesome stuff. made my way to 57th st and got my hair cut where sylvester stalone gets his hair done and some other famous people, just cant remember them.. i went for the bangs again.looks sweet! went around the corner to get the eyebrows done, no appointment just buzzed on a door that said waxing and it looked very asian. they let me upstairs and all i said was eyebrow and i was dragged into the room, thrown on the bed and they got to work, i must admit i was a bit anxious but they were the best eyebrows i had ever seen and for 7 dollar fitty.. not bad at all!
strolled on down 5th ave doin the shopping thang, and the touristy thang too, it has to be done. i met up with fairy godmother at grand central station and caught a train to what feels like the middle of nowhere, but its called new milford in connecticut about 2 hrs NE of NY, we had a nice italian dinner then made our way to the MANSION named orana woods! now this is a house alright,4 story, gym, sauna, hot tub, billard table, old school popcorn machine, 2 guest houses, lake house, jet boats, miami vice boat, cadilac escalade, mercedes convertable, amazing decor, shit the list goes on. u will have to see for yourself, ill video it and take u on a tour!
but for now its bed time.night xx

NYC.. as it was in the beginning

From vancouver i got on a shuttle bus, called quick shuttle...this it was not. i would have been better off on the looser cruiser and being a bit richer, thought i was travelling in style until we got to the boarder crossing, when usually its the dodgy mexicans with cardboard boxes as their luggage that are causing all the delay.. but no it was me!the sweet innocent looking aussie traveller. i was holding everyone up as i hadnt filled out the correct forms, so after getting fingerprinted, questioned and a mug shot, we contiued on our way to seattle. I chilled out in the airport waiting for my flight at 9.59pm.Got on the plane to NEW YORK and had the pleasure of sitting next to some strangers of an indian descent, nice guys, they were also strangers to each other, untill i woke up at the end of the 4 hr flight and whilst i was sleeping they had gotten well aquainted.. they were all snuggled up, head on the shoulder under a blanket?? hmmm. cute i guess.. The flight went well, slightly bumpy at times but it was budget after all, you wouldnt have got your moneys worth if it was smooth sailing. I arrived in NEW YORK JFK airport, local time of 6am. this was weird cos i lost 3 hrs of my life. i walked into the baggage claim and was greeted my a cute lil mexican man holding a sign up with my name on it, i felt so special.he took my bags and carted me away to the city in a flash black mercedes and dropped me off at a flash Brooklyn apartment where i was greeted by my fairy godmother Debra! SO she apologised for her small apartment which was actually huge!the elevator was the front door, it opened into the hallway where i was suprised at how big the place was expecting a tiny studio apartment.. then she invited me down stairs for a cup of tea! this was not a small studio apartment at all, it was 2 story!! absolutly beautiful!!my room was looking out onto a huge balcony with a view of the city,(actually the city pic i took is the view from the balcony, pretty shit) HUGE plasma on the wall and my own ensuite! then i went and got all my instructions for the day or should i say my schedule! i was handed a subway map, told to go to maceys and do some shopping. So off i went on my subway adventure to the city.!i was sitting on the subway amongst all my subway freinds when i herd this"HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE" followed by "JINGLE BELLS", thought it was some church choir untill i turned around and it was a group of black americans, that looked slightly homeless singing away and clapping their hands, backing each other up and shaking their bags of coins. they were the happiest people i had seen in a long time, they really put a smile on my face as it was then i realised i was actually in new york! They even threw out some free advice "smile, it wont mess up your hair"that got a smile out of me! SO i did my shopping, made my way back home to get changed and then off to meet deb at SOHO(a trendy private club, also where i took a pic of the sign saying no pairs in the tiolets, on the back of the tiolet door.hmm.) for a swanky corporate dinner! Now i really feel like im in sex and the city.Dinner was awesome,i looked the part all done up in a cute lil black dress and cute lil heels, drank some fancy red wine, had mature conversations about life but i also got the chance to talk about snowboarding and piercings so i felt right at home with the VIPS. After dinner we were greeted by our driver in a black escapade and cruised around the back streets of Manhattan untill we ended up at home in Brooklyn,i kicked off my heels, made a cuppa with deb and we planned my schedule for the next day...(sigh of exhaustion) this concluded my first day in the BIG APPLE!xx

snowiest month in history of whistler

well i would have to say that i am one of the lucky people who have decided to stay for a winter here in whistler. This november was officially the snowiest month ever in whistler with a total accumulation of 560cm of snow!most of it dumping in just a few nights. They never even had that much in total for the whole season of last year, and november isnt even winter, what the?? so at the moment im experiencing -13 degrees when im snowboarding up in the alpine, and for the next coming days it is expected to be around -20 with -31 wind chill!!!! i did say i wanted to experience a canadian winter so here it is and apparently this isnt the worst of it. These freezing cold days are a bit decieving as the skys are clear, also known as bluebird days. im slowly getting the hang of the winter slang.
as for my snowbarding... im definately progressing, not so many falls which is great, i did manage to fall on the back of my head and give myself whiplash, but this is what i call fun so gotta deal with the inujuries that come with extreme sports. sorry mum and dad!
so check out some of my awesome pics on whistler and blackcomb and with my housemate hamish!!
